Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme

Coldharbour Mill, at Uffculme in Devon, is probably one of the best-preserved textile mill complexes in the country. It retains the full range of buildings and power system features that characterised the development of the 19th century textile mill.

Built in 1799, Coldharbour Mill was operated throughout its entire working life by the firm of Fox Brothers & Co. When closure came in 1981, Coldharbour Mill Trust bought and reopened the factory as a textile museum, so preserving a unique piece of social and industrial history.
For over a decade we  have  advised on the general care of the buildings and strategies for fundraising. We have been responsible for repairs to the Rope Race, the Combing shed and, most recently, the Waterwheel and Wheelhouse and have set out to retain the character of this important industrial site in all our proposals.
